Trim, some cabinetry, hardwood & tile, doors & windows, some finish electrical, landscape design….. all has been completed in the last month and a half.
Please continue praying for the workers’ safety – so far we’re injury free – and for the project to be a blessing to all involved.
Anticipating a Christmastime move in…… and what better way to feel the love of Christ this season!!!!!!! Love as always, The Dennys
In Matthew 7: 25, Jesus says,
“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
Our family has set its foundation firmly on the Rock of Christ Jesus, and we humbly invite you to join us in blessing our house, to the Lord’s glory, by visiting and marking blessings all over it. We will have Sharpie markers available in the foyer, and you may come by this weekend, take a walk through the house, choose a spot, and write a blessing, prayer, favorite scripture, or just words of encouragement on the flooring or walls before it is covered over with drywall next week. It is our heart’s desire that this new home would be filled with the fragrant perfume of the Spirit of God, and so we invite you in…
Please join us at 7 Heron Pond Court, Columbia, SC 29223, anytime this weekend!!!
Peace, Brian & Jessica Denny
A BIG thank you to Milton Posada at International Construction, Stock Building Supply/John Burton, Jim Long at Frye Electric, Shannon Heating & Air, Chris Flowers at CF Plumbing, Weaver Systems, and many others… we are so thankful for you all!
Upon arriving at our home site this morning, Cooper said, “Mama! Look! The Lord is building our house today!” I thought that was pretty cute, considering “The Lord” was, in reality, six hard-working, very sweaty & thirsty gentlemen. But, the Lord is working through those men, and we are so humbled and thankful. See their handiwork below, as well as a sign that lists the donors contributing to the project.
You can slow the slideshow down by putting your cursor over the picture and pressing the stop button that appears.
Also, if you have contributed to the project but do not see your name, please email Earl McLeod at the HBA Charitable Foundation, and we’ll be sure to add you. We did the best we could to make sure we included everyone, and would regret leaving someone out.
Hey Everybody! We are making tremendous progress, thanks to McGuinn Homes and our lightning-fast framing crew. The Advantec, premium lumber, and ZipWall came to us courtesy of Stock Building Supply (THANK YOU!).
Look at these two adorable children that we found playing there! I think we’ll keep them. : )
Welcome & thanks for visiting!!! This blog will be our journal for documenting the progress of our new home, “Lagniappe“. It will serve three main purposes:
1. As an online scrapbook, so we can remember the love & labor that will build our home.
2. For our contractors to be able to track our progress & plan their schedules accordingly.
3. To keep our long-distance family & friends in the loop as building progresses.
You can subscribe to this blog and you will be notified by email if a post has been written. For the most part, I will keep the posts short and informational, and will include house pictures whenever possible. I will also continue to write on CaringBridge, as the Lord leads me, about our journey through life after Brian’s spinal cord injury for as long as it is beneficial to you and our family.
Thanks so much for your interest! We’re excited to begin the building process and can’t wait to see how the Lord works in and through our “Lagniappe” after we make it HOME!!!
PS: FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ON THE POSTS, BUT I CANNOT PROMISE THAT I’LL RESPOND TO PERSONAL COMMENTS. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING!!!
